Singles events - $25, Doubles events - $15 (Maximum of 3 events; any combination of two doubles events and one singles event or two singles events and one doubles event)

Singles events - $25, Doubles events - $15 (Maximum of 3 events; any combination of two doubles events and one singles event or two singles events and one doubles event)
 
 
**USTA membership fee is NOT included (see competition rules and format below for membership instructions).
 
Military Support Program:  
The Military Support Program has been created to allow active duty and retired service members, their spouses and dependents to participate in the Rocky Mountain State Games with up to a 50% discount off the normal registration fees. Note: Junior age is determined as of July 1, 2018.  Adult/Senior age is determined as of December 31, 2018 in accordance with USTA rules and regulations. Senior Doubles: The age division of competition for doubles and mixed doubles will be determined by the younger age of the two partners as of December 31, 2018.
 
General Guidelines: 
NTRP Rating Tournament (All Ages): This is a USTA (www.usta.com) sanctioned tournament. Membership cards are REQUIRED at the competition site. Juniors and Adults may register for a max of 3 events, any combination of two doubles events and one singles event or two singles events and one doubles event.  This is an outdoor competition. Competition may begin on Thursday, July 19 dependent on the number of entires, check the schedule for individual times. All athletes must provide proof of age with either a driver’s license, birth certificate, or with current USTA card. Entry form and signed waiver should be mailed together with entry fee (check or credit card). When registering, please indicate NTRP rating and USTA membership number and any other information useful for seeding in the sport-specific section of the entry form. If registering for doubles, each athlete MUST register separately and list partner on the registration form.  Avoidance times are NOT guaranteed.
 
National Senior Games Qualifying Tournament (Ages 50+): National Senior Games qualifying rules apply to senior divisions. Please click here for the complete 2019 NSG rulebook. NTRP Ratings do not apply to NSG qualifying tournament. If registering for doubles, each athlete MUST register separately and list partner on the registration form.  Avoidance times are NOT guaranteed.

Court Surface: Hard Court
 
Competition Format: 
Juniors entering the adult class will only be allowed to compete in the OPEN division. Format will include first match losers consolation bracket for adults and juniors.The consolation rounds are single elimination.  Consolation is not a medal round. A playoff round will determine 3rd and 4th plance in the main draw. Competition format is subject to change based on court availability, weather, and number of entries. Competition will follow USTA rules (www.usta.com), regulations and codes of conduct. Commissioner will determine eligibility for division of competition. Matches will be the best 2 of 3 tie break sets, match tie break will be used in lieu of a 3rd set.  Maximum 32 entries in each draw. All players must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled match time. Point and game penalties will apply for tardy players. Forfeits will be determined by Commissioner per USTA governing rules. Players will be asked to “call their own matches." If a lines person or umpire is needed, one will be provided, but only if absolutely necessary. Tennis balls will be provided.  Tournament format subject to change based on the number of entries. 
 
NTRP Rating Categories / General Characteristics of Playing Levels:
1.0 This player is just starting to play tennis.
1.5 This player has limited experience and is still working primarily on getting the ball into play.
2.0 This player needs on-court experience. This player has obvious stroke weakness but is familiar with
basic positions for singles and doubles play.
2.5 This player is learning to judge where the ball is going but overall court coverage is weak. This player can sustain a rally of slow pace with other players of the same ability.
3.0 This player is consistent with medium paced shots, but is not comfortable with all strokes and lacks
control when trying for directional intent, depth or power.
3.5 This player has achieved improved stroke dependability and direction on moderate shots, but still lacks depth and variety. This player is starting to exhibit more aggressive net play, has developed court
coverage, and is developing tenn.gifteamwork in doubles.
4.0 This player has dependable strokes including directional intent and depth on both forehand and back-hand sides on moderate shots. This player also has the ability to use lobs, overheads, approach shots, and volleys with some success.
4.5 This player has begun to master the use of power and spins and is beginning to handle pace, has
sound footwork, can control depth of shots, and is beginning to vary tactics according to opponents. This player can hit first serves with power accuracy and place the second serve and is able to rush the net successfully.
5.0 This player has good shot anticipation, frequently has an outstanding shot, or exceptional consistency around which a game may be structured. This player can regularly hit winners or force errors off of short balls and can put away volleys and overhead smashes. This player has good depth and spins on most second serves.
5.5 This player has developed power and/or consistency as a major weapon. This player can vary
strategies and style of play in a competitive situation and hits dependable shots in a stress situation.
6.0-7.0 These players will generally not need NTRP ratings. Rankings or past-rankings will speak for
themselves.
