Military Support Program: 
The Military Support Program has been created to allow active duty and retired service members, their spouses and dependents to participate in the Rocky Mountain State Games with up to a 50% discount off the normal registration fees. Note: Age determination date of the youngest player is as of December 31, 2018 (must be 50 by December 31, 2018). 
 
Competition Rules and Format:
Coaches must complete the team roster/waiver form and can be submitted to the RMSG office in advance but must be turned in to the RMSG Commissioner prior to your team's first game. Teams who do not submit a complete roster prior to their first game is subject to forfeit. Roster is limited to 10 players including non-playing coaches, non-playing captains and non-playing bench personnel.  Games must begin with 3 players within 5 minutes of scheduled game time.  Personnel NOT listed on the roster are not allowed in team bench areas.  Any protests MUST be made before the game starts and MUST be submitted in writing to the Commissioner.  Teams must be gender-specific and are limited to participate in only one age division.  If there is only one team entered in an age division, that team should be given exhibition opportunities with the closest age division.
 
Teams will be guaranteed four games.  The tournament will be a round robin format followed by a single elimination tournament. Games will be played on half court.  Tournament format will include preliminary round robin pool play leading to an elimination bracket championship final.  Playing time shall be two 15 minute halves for 50-74 age groups and two 12 minutes halves for 75+ age groups.  There shall be a continuously running clock with an intermission of five minutes for half-time.  In the last two minutes of each half, the clock will stop in accordance with normal basketball rules.  The clock also stops after a made basket during the last minute of the second half.
 
 
Point differential – A maximum of 21 points will be awarded towards point differential, regardless of final score.  Forfeits shall be scored 21-0.  Rocky Mountain State Games reserves the right to expand, combine, cap or cancel divisions based on total number of entries.  Registration will be closed for each division as it meets capacity.  All divisions will be closed for registration by the registration deadline listed above.
 
Each team will be required to provide either a score keeper or a timer for each game.

General Information: 
The RMSG has a zero tolerance policy.  Commissioners reserve the right to suspend and or have teams forfeit play for unsportsmanlike conduct from players, coaches or spectators.  Unsportsmanlike conduct resulting in any type of altercation on the court , the venue grounds, etc., will result in a team disqualification for the entire tournament with no refund.  Spectators affiliated with the teams are responsible for knowing and adhering to the rules and policies of the tournament.  It is the responsibility of the coaches to control their team and their spectators. 
 
Dress Code:  
Each team must wear a matching, numbered jersey or t-shirt.

Admissions: Athletes and up to two coaches and one score keeper from each team receive free admission (passes will be included in coaches registration packets) but spectators will be charged for the following sports: Basketball and Track & Field. Daily admission fees: Adults (13 & over): $5. Youth 12 & under are admitted free. Weekend Pass: $12.
 
Medaling in the 2017 & 2018 Rocky Mountain State Games Basketball events will qualify you to participate in the 2019 State Games of America!
