Through our C.H.A.M.P.S program, individuals of all backgrounds come together to support world-class sporting events, community programs, and Olympic City USA initiatives. From the Rocky Mountain State Games to the Labor Day Lift Off, our volunteers help create safe, memorable, and high-impact experiences for athletes, families, and spectators.

Group Opportunities
Looking for a meaningful way to give back as a team? Group volunteering is a great way to build connection, support Olympic City USA events, and make a real impact in the Pikes Peak Region. The Sports Corp welcomes corporate groups, school clubs, sports teams, military units, and community organizations to volunteer together at many of our events.
We’ll help match your group with opportunities that fit your size, interests, and schedule — from larger multi-day events like the Labor Day Lift Off and Pikes Peak Regional Airshow, to other signature events like the Pikes Peak Apex & Rocky Mountain State Games. Paid group opportunities may be available depending on event needs and are considered on a case-by-case basis.

How do I sign up to volunteer?
Signing up is easy! To get started, browse through our list of upcoming opportunities on this page click the one that interests you. You’ll be prompted to log in or create your CHAMPS volunteer profile, choose a shift, and complete a quick application. After registering, you’ll receive details about your role, schedule, and check-in instructions.
Do volunteers receive any perks?
Yes! Our CHAMPS volunteer benefits follow a tiered system, with perks growing the more events you serve. Volunteer perks may include branded swag or volunteer shirts, hospitality items, and complimentary meals or snacks when applicable.
Multi-event volunteers may earn entries into exclusive drawings for tickets, gift cards, VIP access, and other community prizes, with additional events unlocking eligibility for larger season-end prizes like round-trip Southwest flight vouchers, Switchbacks FC tickets, and more.
All benefits and drawings are based on availability and volunteer participation in good standing.
What kinds of events can I volunteer for?
The Sports Corp hosts a wide variety of events – from large, signature community celebrations to unique endurance and outdoor events. Volunteer roles vary by event, but often include areas like registrations, participant support, hospitality, parking, and event operations. See below for a brief snapshot of our events:
- Colorado Senior Games | June 5–7
An Olympic-style multi-sport festival for athletes ages 50+ of all abilities. Volunteers help ensure a welcoming, well-run experience across venues in Colorado Springs. - Pikes Peak APEX | June 13–14
A multi-day mountain bike & gravel challenge featuring iconic Pikes Peak routes and terrain. Volunteers support rider services, course operations, and event logistics. - Rocky Mountain State Games (RMSG) | July 17–19
Colorado’s largest multi-sport festival, welcoming thousands of athletes across dozens of sports. Volunteers assist with check-in, scoring/timing, hospitality, and on-site support. - The Broadmoor Cycle to the Summit | August 8
A celebrated hill climb up Pikes Peak, sanctioned by USA Cycling and open to multiple categories. Volunteers support festival setup, rider check-in, parking, and more. - Labor Day Lift Off (50th Anniversary Celebration) | Sept. 5–7
A milestone year for one of Colorado Springs’ favorite traditions, featuring hot air balloons, glows, and festival activities. Volunteers help with parking, hospitality, beer garden support, balloon crew, and more. - Pikes Peak Regional Airshow | Sept. 19–20
A high-energy aviation showcase and community weekend with aerial performances and family activities. Volunteers assist with guest experience, admissions, parking, hospitality, and event logistics.
Can groups volunteer together?
Absolutely! We welcome corporate teams, school clubs, sports teams, and other community groups. Volunteering as a group is a great team-building experience and can be customized to fit your schedule and size. To get started, please fill out our Group Volunteer Request Form, and our team will reach out to coordinate details and find the best fit for your group.
Do I need previous experience?
Some specialized opportunities may require additional qualifications or extra training, and those requirements will be clearly listed in the volunteer posting.
For most roles no prior experience is necessary — just a positive attitude and willingness to help. We will provide information and any necessary training to make sure you feel confident and ready for your assigned shift.
