Cycling – 719 Challenge

  • The 719 KOM Challenge will again be part of the prestigious SENAU.S. Gran Fondo Series and a qualifying sanctioned event. The course will feature a new and longer loop of more than 45-kilometer (28 miles), which will include two timed KOM/QOM climbs, taking in some of the most scenic and hilly areas of the Colorado Springs as well as some of its finest bike paths.
  • The 719 10K will serve as the official 10-kilometer (6.2 mile) run of the Rocky Mountain State Games and is a medal event. The course will feature road, crushed gravel trails, and mostly flat, fast terrain.

Route Options

    • Cycling:
      • Gran (84.9 mi.), 3 laps (6 total KOM’s, 2 per lap)
      • Medio (56.6 mi.), 2 laps (4 total KOM’s, 2 per lap)
      • Piccolo (28.3 mi.), 1 laps (2 total KOM’s, 2 per lap)

KOMs per lap (timed): 3

Total Elev Gain: 9,750 feet

Elev. Gain Per Lap: 1,863 feet

Ave. Elev of Course: 7,190 feet

    • Running:
      • 10-kilometer (6.2 mile)

The course will feature a mix of:

          • Road

          • Crushed gravel trails

          • Mostly flat, fast terrain

The 2026 course will feature a new, extended 45+ kilometer (28+ mile) loop, including:

      • Two timed KOM/QOM climbs per lap

      • Scenic and hilly sections of Colorado Springs

      • Portions of the city’s premier bike paths

Route Options

      • Gran Fondo – 84.9 miles (3 laps; 6 total KOMs, 2 per lap)

      • Medio Fondo – 56.6 miles (2 laps; 4 total KOMs, 2 per lap)

      • Piccolo Fondo – 28.3 miles (1 lap; 2 total KOMs)

Tom Falgien Youth Sports Fund

The Tom Falgien Youth Sports Fund is intended to support the growth and development of youth sports in the Pikes Peak region, with an emphasis on community engagement, coach support, and engaging underserved youth in sports.
