Competition Rules and Format

Games will be played in a race to 4 (first player to win four games). Finals will be a race to 5.

Tournament format will be modified double elimination, depending on field size.

The Tournament Director may enforce a 45-second shot clock if three total games have not been completed after one hour from the match start time.

Awards will be presented to 1st through 3rd place for each division.
- The event will be played on 9′ Diamond pro-cut tables, using Super Aramith Pro balls with Pro Cup cue balls.

All billiards events will be conducted in accordance with World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) 8-Ball rules, except as modified herein.

Cues may weigh a minimum of 10 oz. and a maximum of 25 oz. Players may use their own cue or a legal house cue.

Except for the break, all shots must be called. (Not true if we keep 9-Ball but can be true if we switch to 10-Ball)

Lagging will be used to determine who breaks.

Alternate breaks thereafter.

Smoking is not permitted on the premises. Smoke breaks will not be permitted during matches.

There are no timeouts during matches.

One 5-minute break may be permitted during each match. It may be taken prior to the incoming player’s turn to break.

Players are prohibited from wearing headphones, earphones, or any electronic ear-pieces during tournament matches, unless for approved medical reasons.
